Finished the Hatz

Post by Bitshifter »

Finally after three long years of work the Hatz is finished and signed off. I made the first flight today and she fly's like a dream, the trim was hands off perfect. Pictures to follow as soon as I can stop smiling.

3 years is very fast! Guess you also are othervise employed and have family?
You are the first to fly with our tie rods!?

Oh well, that was fun, back to building. Today I expect to get the vertical fin, rudder and elevators mounted but I am far from finished.
Hans & Sam, the tie rods are beautiful and saved me a lot of work, thanks again.

Nice try Ed! Keep moving and post some pics when you get those mounted. A little motivation for the rest of us.

I must admit, that got me! I was really surprised! I went to Ed's site to check it out to see what was going on !
Man, that woke me up! Good one!

I love the photos and info on your site Ed! Thanks for posting them, and the joke! Looking forward to next years already!

And for Sam and Hans, I have a set of your wires too, and they fit real well. I only have my upper wing done so far, but I am sure they are going perform well though.

That was a real hit for you Ed! You really got me - I should have felt that it's a first of April joke since we also have this tradition over here!
Anyway your first flight arrives some day! Happy building!
To anyone who might be interested:
By invitation of the German "Fliegermagazin", which covered a several page article about our Hatz in their March issue (the American "Kitplane" magazine bought the article and will bring it in English tranlation in a forthcoming issue), we are planning (if the weather allows) to fly to Friedrichshafen for the AERO 2016 Aviation show and will exhibite the Hatz on their both. We also will have information material from Rotec there and if anybody is visiting the show they might eventually also come to the "Fliegermagazine" booth....
Kindest regards from Hans & Sam, H.C.78, Switzerland

Kind of hard to see with all the junk in the background but the back of the plane is coming together.
As you can see it is far from finished.
