Seats

Post by dougm »

I plan on building the seats soon and have been toying with the idea of installing the Hatz Bantam seats, but I'm curious about weight. Mark Marino gave me the weights of the Bantam seats, but I do not know what the Classic seats weigh (I'm guessing around 2.5 lbs?). Could someone with a completed seat weigh it for me? I'm interested in just the seat frame with the steel mesh that makes the bottom/back... just the frame, no upholstery and preferably not yet painted.

If some could do that and post the numbers I'd appreciate it.

Hi Doug,
If you haven't started your seats yet you should consider designing the rear seat with a hinged back rest to provide access to the rear of the fuselage. Someday you may want to hang a bulky sleeping bag under the baggage compartment or retrieve a dropped object that has rolled toward the rear. Ron Sieck has a nice
rear seat design.

Good point John. What did Ron do for his seats?
