rod end bearings

Hiya folks,

So I'm ordering material for my torque tube. When I get to the bit where I find the price on the Heim HMX-4G and HMXL-4G rod-end bearings, I just about fall off my chair. $60 for the right hand, and $170!!! for the left hand. EACH! Are they platinum-plated or something?

Are there any more cost-effective, but still safe alternatives?

Yes! Go with the Aurora Rod ends... direct replacements for Heim at a fraction of the cost. Used in Aircraft and also high performance hot rods

The Heim prices really shot up compared to a year or two ago when they were (still expensive) around $35/ea,

I don't have the Rotec yet. I'm hoping to make OSH this year and talk to the Rotec guys in person and put in my down payment.
