Cockpit cover

Post by mmcgrew »

Would some one have a pattern or plans on how to layout and sew a cockpit cover? I have tried to make from brown paper - but terrible results.

Thanks

Hi Mike,
I made a paper pattern of the front windshield and a rectangular piece that would cover both cockpits. I purchased an inexpensive boat cover for material, some heavy snaps, a few feet of 1 inch webbing and a plastic clip like the ones on life jackets and back packs. With that in hand I gave it to my wife and she sewed it together. It goes on and off in about 30 seconds.

Hi Michael,
I sewed also a cockpit cover.
I did the canvas as showed on the pictures on our webside.

I used a fabric, which is used normally for boat covers.
Inside of the fabric i added a upholstered car cover material which is very smooth on the windshield and cockpit paneling contact surfaces to protect them against scratchs.
