This is a bit off topic but there are a few Hatz projects with Rotec engines.

I was looking for a place to add a manifold pressure sender. Has anyone done that and where did they put the sender unit. I have a UMA sender with 1/8" NPT fitting.

Hi Murray. I don’t have a MP sender or gauge, but I recall seeing a video Paul did at Rotec where the sender was placed just downstream of the TBI (or Bing). He had it slipped between the rubber mounting sleeve and the TBI. It was more a temporary deal he did while test running engines. I imagine you could mount the sender in the “goose neck” intake downstream from the TBI.

Thanks Jeff

I was hoping there was one that I couldn't find. I'll see if I can find that video.

I was thinking of one of the intake manifolds on one of the top cylinders. I used one of the fuel primer inlets on my Lycoming 0320. It's just before the intake valve and seemed to work fine. I would have to get a bung welded onto the intake pipe on the Rotec. That would mess up the nice shiny finish :(
