Let me be the first to congratulate Rick and Kathy on the latest Hatz to win the coveted Gold Lindy at Oshkosh. My better half and I had the chance to meet with them at AirVenture and talk Hatzes. Often the hardest part of building a Hatz is showing up to Oshkosh or Brodhead and seeing such exquisite workmanship, then going home, looking at one’s own project with all its flaws and thinking “This looks like sh*t!”. Rick and Kathy were wonderfully encouraging, supportive, and full of good ideas. I’ll definitely be incorporating the removable step into N52921.
So how many is this now? It never ceases to amaze me how our little community of builders can keep bringing home the trophies. I think only the Van’s RV builders have brought home more, but their airplanes are built from kits and they outnumber us by about 100 to one!
Congrats again!
Congratulations Rick & Kathy Schultz!

+1 on congratulations. I would love to see it in person but wouldn’t want to park my Hatz next to it

Hatz Plans built Grand Champions: 86, 92, 97, 01, 08, 10, 13, 14, 24. Easily the most since 1980. Second place for that period is probably Falcos.
