Floor boards supports

Hi All,
Moving along with adding all the little brackets to the main fuselage structure, I was looking at the floor board supports.
The plans specify 0.050" sheet bent to a 3/4" width with 3/8" flanges.
I was going to look into fabricating these, but then I noticed I have 3/4" X3/4" rectangular tubing with a thickness of 0.049", and I was thinking I'd just slice that in half lengthwise (with a thin cut-off wheel, so I'll be losing a 1/16" of material) and use that.
Anyone see a reason not to do this?
Thanks.
