Re: Cabane Fork terminals

Hi all
Concerning those cabane forks, we wrote that our supplier would be interested in a new run if there would be at least 7 or so sets. He would then handle a collective order (single shipping address) on his own with us just as a translation support. The payment would be directly to the manufacturer. We don't want to deal ourselfes with goods others have manufactured!
So, this source is to be considered for the case you cannot find someone else to make it for a reasonable price. The Swiss manufacturer hasn't made the price yet, but we guess it would arount $ 40.- a piece.
An aerospace English S80 stainless steel would be used.
Concerning the square (not streamline) tie rods (drag/antidrag wires), we are still interested to manufacture them! They have been published in another post on this forum. As our machinery is normally set up for making the scale streamline flying wires (with the max size M4, wich has a 4.7mm x 1.1mm section), we would need a total of 5 orders to set-up the machinery. The wires would be less clevis terminals, as they are available commercially. Threads are UNF 10-32 rolled. Material is stainless AISI 316L and strengt is the same as Bruntons round drawn tie rods. The weight saving compared to ordinary round 3/16" rods is about 3 pounds. Cost per set of 24 wires at nominal 24" lenght (pin to pin) would be CHF 640.00 (about $ 665.- ) plus shipping CHF 80.00 (one set). For those interested, please contact us directly :

Here is what weposted on the forums:
Hi everyone,
We think there is no news that we make available our 1/8" light weight tie rods with rolled UNF 10-32 left- and righthand rolled threads. The material used is a AISI 316L stainless steel which meets easily the specs (min. 2100 lbs), what means that they are able to carry the same loads as Bruntons AN 703 round drawn tie rods. A set of 24 pcs. at 40" (AN665 clevis pin to pin) weights almost 3 pounds less that a set comprising of full 3/16" round wire with cut 10-32 threads. We made our own such tie rods for our Vintage Hatz (Classic) and would like to provide this service for others as well.
By coincidence we found an old ad in a 1929 Aero Digest magazine by the then Stewart Hartshorn firm (New York), who manufactured just then what we have released nowadays.... See picture and ad included.
Please ask for a quotation at hans.u@aeroplaneworks.ch. We can make lenghts up to 50" by the way.
