My company may be interested in building fuselages, center section , fuel tank, landing gear and cowlings if we could get enough interest.

Maybe someone here who has completed their Hatz could get you a copy of their certificate? I don't know if that would work, but if they just want to know that the Hatz has been built it maybe that would be easier to get a copy of.

Thank you Jeff. The reason I need the copy of Airworthiness Certificate is that my Aviation Authority classifies projects built from plans on two categories:
S1- new project, never flown before - you have to show them all the construction calculations,
S2- project already built and flying: then they need the Airworthiness Certificate, (or relevant document) proven by another Authority
So in my case it's just a matter of proving it is not a new construction. I thought it should be natural to get some help from the aircraft manufacturer-Makelan, but for some reason it is not. :(

Thank you for the info Hans! I will keep trying.. :)
Hans, have you got any European wood/plywood supplier you can recommend, please? I wonder what kind of plywood were you guys using when building your machine in Switzerland? Birch, Okume? Metric?
I found the Aircraft Spruce is placed now in Europe as well (in Germany), so it would be the easiest way for me to buy everything there. But just want to know your opinion first.
With best regards,
Wojciech, HC#164, Poland

Can't speak for Makelan but I'll comment on the paperwork.
As a homebuilt in the U S, the Hatz Classic and the CB-1 don't have original airworthiness certificates. Each builder is considered the manufacturer and they obtain an airworthiness certificate from the FAA in the classification in which they apply. Mine is Experimental-Amateur Built... so there are literally 100's out there.
Ask your governing body specifically what documentation they are requesting and repost. We've had members in England, France and Switzerland go through this process and maybe they can help with the documentation.

Good Luck,

Jeff Moore

The email address I have used is: hatzkit@gvtc.com . Their website is a bit outdated so their contact info may not be correct. Keep trying, you will get an answer eventually.

Makelan ?

Hi,
Does anybody know what is going on with Makelan Corp.?
Does it still exist?
In mid November last year I ordered Hatz Classic "Complete Kit." Sylvia promised to contact me after weekend. Two weeks later I phoned her. She excused for not calling and promised to send me the contract next day.
It was the end of November. No single message from Makelan until present. I sent a lot of emails, phoned many times. This week I gave up and send them email cancelling my order.... At least I have my HC plans.
I found this situation very strange.

Before I start building, my Civil Aviation Authority wants me to show them the copy of the first Hatz Classic Airworthiness Certificate (or relevant document) from manufacturer. Becouse of no contact with Makelan I can't do anything. Officially... :D
Is there any other way to get such a copy, i.e. FAA Registry?
Thanks,
Wojciech

P.S.
I was using these contacts: syl@gvtc.com, +1 830 905 7832
